ABSOLUTELY NO SPRAY PAINTING ON ROADWAYS… SIDEWALK CHALK ONLY!!!!!
LORD OF THE FLIES INFORMATION
REGISTRATION/PACKET PICK-UP: Friday, July 9, from 5-7 PM at Town Square in Waterville Valley. Please bring a photo ID and your USA Triathlon card (if you’re a member) to registration. YOU MUST HAVE ID! USAT requires that all athletes show proper identification, and since we have no way of verifying your USAT membership at the race site, it is your responsibility to bring your USAT card OR print out your proof of membership at www.usatriathlon.org if you have lost your card. All members of a relay team must be present to pick-up the relay packet. All competitors will receive a “Winning Time” time chip at registration which MUST be worn on race day.
PARKING: Parking is available at the Black Bear Lodge, Waterville Valley Conference Center, Village Condos, Recreation Department, and Snow’s Mountain. Parking on the race course is not permitted. Parking begins at 4:30 pm on Friday, and 5:30 am on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Police will direct you to the appropriate lots. We strongly encourage arriving early. We also suggest getting dropped-off at the race site or carpooling. Please make sure you allow adequate time for parking… we want everyone to have plenty of time for pre-race preparations! For those athletes staying at Watervillle Valley and it’s resorts, you may easily walk to the race start from your resort parking lots.
REGISTRATION: Once you’ve parked, make your way to the registration tent, located next to the transition area (near the Ice Arena and Town Square). Registration starts at 5:00 PM on Friday, July 9th. You’ll pick up your three packets, which will each include your swim cap (triathlons only), bib number (triathlons only), bike frame number (big sticker), helmet number (small sticker) and your Timing Chip. MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THE PACKETS SEPARATE FOR EACH EVENT, AND WEAR THE CORRECT TIMING CHIP FOR EACH EVENT (you will get three chips). You’ll receive the same bib number for all three events, so the bike frame sticker and helmet number may remain on your bike for the entire weekend, beginning with the bike time trial.
SCORING: Scoring for the Lord of the Flies competition will be based on the following:
Awards will be presented to the top 3 males and females overall immediately following the MS Sprint Triathlon awards ceremony. Your rank will be based upon your combined time of the three events: The Time Trial, International Triathlon, and MS Sprint Triathlon. The leader board will be placed in Town Square beginning on Friday evening, for tracking purposes. Athletes competing in the Lord Of The Flies competition are still eligible to win overall and age group awards at each of the individual races as well.
As you will be competing in all three events, here is the information specific to each event:
